I thought I would revisit this plug-in and improve it even more with realistic textures (A cross-stitcher on twitch shared a zoomed in photo of her cross-stitch and so I was able to make even more realistic texture).
Check version 7 of plug-in (new textures included [aida-9.png and stitched-9.png]).
Here are results (as you can see it's super realistic even when zoomed in).

Eventhough version 7 looks real the pure black was bugging me.
So version 8, I added a lighten only (legacy) layer on top to make it so that black isn't pure-black but you still see texture of the cross-stitch.
So it's even more realistic.

Version 10 might be an improvement where the aida cloth is showing (over version 9).

Updated with latest version that has YES/NO option to blending.
Blending will allow for picking colors that is average (50% of one DMC thread color and 50% of another DMC thread color).
In theory, this should produce better matching colors (but it is in theory).
Experimental.
