Experimenting with loaded emaps to find the best results i.e. best highlights when applied to existing font faces.
Can't always tell just by looking.
This one seems useful...

I see a great difference. Much brighter and beautiful look on the characters.
How do you do it? What exactly are the steps to apply the map? Thanks, Skinnyhouse.

Hi Skinnyhouse,
Is there a limit to the Random emap option?
For the image above I made 9 emaps available in .xcf, and for the 18 letters contained in the sentence I would give 2 emaps per letter (18/2). But only 5 of the emaps were used by the plugin.

Version 1.4 ran fine.
My view was wrong, because being a random question there would not necessarily be an average between the number of emaps and the number of letters.
In fact, more than 5 emaps were generated this time, but some with 3 instances and others with only 1. Thx!

Yes - using the random tools provided in Python does give, well, random results. The other options available I suppose are to use the emaps in order (or reversed order). I wasn't overly bothered about saving the emaps as the user supplies/loads them from the filter dialog. May have a proper look at this and see what a custom made solution can come up with to reduce the use of some emaps when others are randomly left unused in the final image.
I tested your version 4 and it worked great for me too. No problem at all.
I used the random option for 5 BRL Maps.
I asked for information about the map you posted Black&White. How did you use it? Thanks, Skinnyhouse.

Ok sorted Issabella.
So I made a set of 7 emaps from this base image using the Map Object... filter set to make a sphere.
I rotated the sphere about the axes in different directions on a transparent layer and packed the results all up into one file (below) to load as emaps in the filter.
The results of using different highlight emaps can be seen here below with the base image as the first letter.
My settings can be seen in the dialog: Basically I ramped everything up that I could. The downside is that that adds time to how long the filter takes to do its business. (Note: this image was made later and doesn't show the loaded emaps as it should do.)
